When I began painting “Softly Remembered,” I wasn’t trying to capture every petal or leaf. Instead, I was thinking about the way certain memories return to us—quietly and unexpectedly—bringing with them a feeling rather than a place.
As I worked, the roses seemed to appear and fade through layers of soft color and light, their edges gently dissolving into the background. I kept the brushstrokes loose and expressive, allowing the painting to find its own natural rhythm. Delicate shades of blush pink, ivory, and soft gray create an atmosphere that feels peaceful, airy, and almost dreamlike.
