It often takes a long time to start an original piece. But with this painting, I feel like my inner ballerina was ready to come out!
Yes...now you know my secret: I always wanted be a ballerina! But then again, I remember a time when I also wanted to be an astronaut. Unfortunately, I lack the talent for either. I’m a bit too uncoordinated for ballet and my fear of heights didn’t seem like a good fit for an astronaut. But out of these dreams and desires, an artist was born.
I was feeling a pink mood when I painted Ballet Dreamer. And I had to have a few roses and petals dancing about too. I hope you enjoy this painting as much as I did creating it for you. - Debi Coules
