18th Century French Fashion

French Fashion has been a life-long obsession. Even at the age of three, I was tucked away in a sunlit corner sketching ornate dresses on stick figures. But as my fascination and artistic ability grew, so did my knowledge of fashion history. I have been deeply influenced by the Rococo era, a period of extravagance in 18th Century France. I simply love being caught up in the romance of it all: the soft colors, the antique feeling, the liberal use of fleur-de-lis and rose garlands, and of course the elegant French costumes. There is such a sense of beauty with the occasional bit of excess. That is the feeling I have tried to capture in my own artwork through various collections.
